Gas can in the spare
I spied this on German EBay. I had not seen one of these before.

Pretty nifty. I see it has a star embossed in the steel, which leads me to ass=u=me that it's an official MB accessory. I wonder if it would fit inside of the cover made by Karl.

Re: Gas can in the spare
Really handy, but one drawback! It holds very little amount of fuel, maybe would be more useful for holding some "Single Malt Whisky"

It is definitely a original MB accesory... part number B6 758 0039 and not very expensive at 11.16 sterling pounds (including V.A.T. @ 17.5%) in 2001

Part number B6 758 0039 is available and do not so expensive because it is replacement filler neck only, not a gas can.

A typo then, surely
Re: Gas can in the spare
11.16 pounds sounds cheap to me. For that price I'd buy one just to have that extra 5L of fuel "just in case"
